If your favorite gadget went for a swim (in the pool, the sea or the toilet) we know how you felt!
Some phones may sustain being underwater for up to 30 minutes. But is your phone one of them?
Water or other liquids can damage internal phone parts. Severe water damage can damage your phone's motherboard or damage your personal files stored in the phone.
Moisture can cause internal phone parts to corrode and prevent them from working normally.
Whether it's still working or not, you want to turn it off immediately to prevent further internal damage, and have a specialist look at it. Don't try to dry it in the sunlight. Your phone needs to carefully be operated upon.
For any phone repair, recovering from water damage does not have a guaranteed outcome. But it's always worth trying. Chances are, you will be relieved to find out that the damage is not as bad as you thought.
